Minis amass at Gaydon

| 26 Jun 2012

Hundreds of Minis are expected at this year’s Gaydon Mini Show at the Heritage Motor Centre on Sunday.

The event is open to Minis old and new and will feature a host of exciting events including an exhibit of cars from the first year of production, a show ‘n’ shine competition with a £250 prize and a ‘fancy dress your Mini’ contest.

There will also be club displays from the Mini Traveller and Countryman Register and a guest display of ADO16, which were also designed by the man responsible for the Mini – Sir Alec Issigonis.

An autojumble and craftshow will be new to this year’s event.

Emma Rawlinson, from the Heritage Motor Centre, said: “The Gaydon Mini Show, which is a fantastic family day out and not just for Mini enthusiasts, aims to show that the spirit of the Mini is as special as the car itself. With so many exciting Mini events and activities, the show has something for everyone!”

All proceeds from the event will go towards the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust that currently cares for three Monte Carlo-winning Minis and one of the first Morris Minis ever built. To find out more visit the Heritage Motor Centre’s website.
