Stirling Moss’ Porsche RS 61 Spyder has been added to the roster of gorgeous Stuttgart machinery due to appear at Race Retro from 24-26 February.
One of only 14 built, the car was bought for $1.7million at the Amelia Island Auction in Florida to mark Sir Stirling’s 30th Wedding anniversary.
It will line up at the Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire event alongside the first prototype chassis of the Rothmans Group C Porsche 956 – raced by Jackie Ickx and Derek Bell – and the original Porsche 962 Group C car, driven to third overall by Frank Jelinski, John Winter and Stanley Dickens at Le Mans 24 in 1988.
Other highlights will be the 280bhp Group B Porsche 911 SCRS on the Live Rally Stage and Bjorn Waldegard being reunited with his 1971 Monte Carlo Rally 914/6.
Alongside the Porsche celebrations, there will also be the 1964 AC Shelby Cobra and the 1963 Lotus works Cortina. Both were raced by Gentleman Jack Sears who will also be at the show.
