| 14 Nov 2012

First there was Wings and Wheels at Dunsfold, now there will be Pistons and Props at Sywell as a new festival celebrating classic aircraft and cars is launched.

Organised by Live Promotions, the event will take place at Sywell Aerodrome in Northamptonshire from 28-29 September 2013 and pledges to combine classic cars, motorbikes and 'planes with all aspects of vintage lifestyle and entertainment.

Classic car clubs are invited to display up to 15 examples of their marque (with free passes for the owners of cars on show) while historic racers will be demonstrated on the airstrip. Air displays featuring Tiger Moths and Spitfires are also promised.

Event Director Tom Siddall said: "The Sywell Classic – Pistons and Props brings together the best of all the classic motoring events in the calendar, with amazing static displays, live action both on the ground and in the air, great family entertainment and a wide range of vintage and classictraders.

"The facilities at Sywell Aerodrome are superb and it has a great atmosphere with its fantastic aviation museum and art deco buildings.  There couldn’t be a better venue for an event of this kind."
