New format Brooklands Double Twelve to attract bigger crowds

| 29 Nov 2012

Organisers of next year’s Brooklands Double Twelve hope to build on the 5500 visitors it attracted last year by splitting the meet into three stand-alone events.

Held from 15-16 June, the Surrey festival will include the Double Twelve Speed Trials on the Mercedes-Benz World circuit, the Double Twelve Concours and the Double Twelve Driving Tests.

Each event will have its own class winner, but to win the Double Twelve Award an entrant must compete in two of the three with a combined score being awarded on the Sunday.

The Test Hill will also be in action as machines varying from Sinclair C5s to pre-war racing cars take on the punishing 352ft concrete slope.

Entry fees are:

Speed Trials £100
Driving Tests £50
Concours £50

Or when two events are entered:

Speed Trials and one other event £110
Concours and Driving Tests £60
