Prestigious new French concours promised for 2014

A new international concours d'elegance promised to rival the world's most prestigious events is to be staged at the spectacular Chantilly chateau next year.

The event, organised by Peter Auto, the team behind a raft of leading French events, will take place about 35 miles north of Paris on 6-7 September 2014.

It already has blue chip sponsors including Maserati and Richard Mille watches and is planned to fill the gap left after the demise of the Louis Vuitton Classic at Parc de Bagatelle.

Given the sponsor and the global centenary celebrations next year, a wonderful selection of both road and race Maseratis is expected.

The 10 classes will also include a tribute to Bugatti; Great French coachwork of the 1920s; Concept cars of the ‘60s and ‘70s; and a special group of ‘Untouched Cars.’

Peter Auto say they are opting for a 'dynamic' format with the concours cars expected to be driven through the countryside on the Sunday.

There will also be 30 club displays, which will be up for awards of their own, trade village and an exhibition of concept cars.
