VW and Porsche icons to appear in the UK

| 25 Jan 2012

The two oldest VWs in private ownership in the world – a pair of prototypes that are also two of the most significant cars in the history of Volkswagen and Porsche – are coming to the UK, one of them for the first time ever.

The cars in question are the VW 38 prototype – one of the very first VW Beetles, dating from 1938 – and the The Berlin-Rome KdF-Wagen Type 60 K10 Rekordwagen, a sports car based on the VW 38 that has been credited with starting the transition from Volkswagen to Porsche.

The VW 38 prototype, along with the Rekordwagen, will be shown at The VolksWorld Show on 24-25 March at Sandown Park, Esher, Surrey.

The pair will join more than 100 classic and custom Volkswagens on display inside with hundreds more outside.
