Auction house moves into classic rallying

| 16 Sep 2011

Classic auction house H&H is branching out… into endurance rallying. H&H boss Simon Hope is already well known on the circuit and was inspired to take the new direction after competing in last year's Peking-Paris event in a 1927 Bentley Speed Six.

Now the UK auction house has set up a subsidiary – H&H Classic Rallies – to run its own events.

Key personnel includ Liz and David Wenman (veterans of such marathons as the Peking to Paris), John Brigden (12 years of experience organising events such as the Himalaya, Tiger, Maya and Cuba classic rallies), and John Trevethick, who worked alongside the late Nick Brittan on his epic London to Sydney Marathons.

The new company's first event is the 3000km Rally of Rajasthan in February 2012. It will stay at many of the world's finest hotels and combine competitive stages with a chance to visit historic forts, palaces and exotic temples as well as the incomparable Taj Mahal.
