Hundreds of classics to parade through Wallingford

| 11 Dec 2012

More than 240 classics and 2000 enthusiasts are expected to attend next year’s Wallingford Classic Vehicle Rally & Parade on 12 May near Oxford.

Highlight of the event is the opening convoy of classics through the town centre at 11am. It will be led by the mayor in an open-top car, before the vehicles go on show on Kincroft green.

This year’s meeting will be offering charity car rides organised by the Sporting Bears. For a small donation, visitors have the opportunity to take a 20-minute passenger ride in cars ranging from Aston Martin to Ferrari and Rolls-Royce.

Mike Brewer from Wheeler Dealers will also be on hand to provide commentary throughout the day and host a charity auction with prizes including a visit to the Williams F1 factory, tickets to the Footman James Classis Motor Show, or a trip in a hot air balloon.

Last year’s event raised more than £6000 for local charities including SeeSaw, which provides bereavement support for the young in Oxford, and organisers are hoping to improve on that in 2013.
