Industry insiders share classic valuation knowledge

| 3 Sep 2014

A special classic car valuation seminar backed by industry experts Hagerty will take place ahead of the Beaulieu International Autojumble on 5 September.

The event will be compered by Classic & Sports Car columnist Simon Taylor, and will begin by reviewing a classic car market that this year has already seen the most expensive car ever to be sold at auction. As well as analysing market trends over the past 12 months, panelists will predict future changes and suggest areas with promising investment potential.

"What has happened over the past few years to classic car values has been extraordinary," said Simon Taylor. "Cars that not long ago were worth a few thousands are now selling at auction for millions, and humbler classics owned by normal enthusiasts are not immune to substantial rises either.

"It's going to be fascinating to hear what our panel of experts really think is happening, and is going to happen."

Head of motoring at Bonhams, James Knight, will also be joining Simon Taylor, as will Hagerty's own Rob Sass. Former Classic Car Weekly editor Dave Richards and auction commentator Richard Hudson-Evans are also expected to contribute.
