'Cheap' racing championship continues to thrive

| 18 Mar 2013

The 750 Motor Club's successful grassroots Toyota MR2 Championship kicks off at Donington Park on 23 March.

Specifically devised as a low-cost series to open up historic racing to as many people as possible, it will this year get even more exposure thanks to regular TV coverage.

Forty-nine drivers, many of them novices, contested the three-class series in 2012 and championship organiser Patrick Mortell is expecting a similar level of competition this season: "All the signs are that we will again enjoy full grids, and the addition of TV coverage will I am sure prove a further draw for competitors."
