Huge grid of Formula Juniors planned for Tasman Revival

| 2 Oct 2012

A frenetic grid of nearly 50 Formula Juniors has been assembled for the 2012 Tasman Revival from 23-25 November.

UK Formula Junior guru Duncan Rabagliati will be among them with his BMC-powered 1959 Alexis, which he has been racing since the late 1980s.

Other entrants come from Belgium, the USA, Japan and New Zealand in a bid to revive the glory decades of the formula – with both front- and rear-engined cars competing in the 1950s and 1960s – when it was the only international single-seater category below Formula One and became the breeding ground for champions.

The Juniors will be just one part of the Tasman Revival meeting, for which 400 racers will descend on Sydney Motorsports Park to compete in a range of classes including 1960s Tasman Cup cars, Formula 5000, Sports racers of all eras up to the mid-1980s, and production sports and touring cars.
