New route announced for 12th Rally of the Tests
The Classic Rally Association’s 2013 Rally of the Tests 31 October-3 November will take in more of the historic locations of the 1950s RAC events.
Crews will start from Chester on Thursday with the traditional Prologue warm up, comprising a test and regularities.
The contest starts in earnest the following morning as the route loops through North Wales to the first overnight halt in Stoke-on-Trent.
Saturday will take drivers north into the rally heartlands of Lancashire and Cumbria, before concluding with a road section in the evening.
On Sunday, the competition tackles a new route east into the Yorkshire Dales and on to the finish line in Harrogate, via a series of tests and regularities in the Vale of York.
Just a small number of places remain, with about 75 teams from the UK and Europe already signed up.
They will compete in cars such as a 1960 Riley 1.5, a 1958 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint and a 1954 Lancia Aurelia B20.
The event is the fifth qualifying round of the 2013 HERO Cup.
