O’Connell wins at Nogara

Martin O’Connell driving a 1976 Chevron B19 FVC was victorious in the opening round of the Classic Endurance Coupes de Pâques Nogaro, in France on 9 April.

O’Connell grabbed Pole after three qualifying sessions that were disrupted by rain, he then made the best of his position during the dry conditions of Easter Monday’s race by pulling away from
the rest of the field and taking top spot on the podium.

His closest pursuers – Frédéric Da Rocha in the 1979 Lola T298 and Dominique Guenat in the 1977 Lola T286 DFV – were left to fend off the rest of the pack and finished second and third respectively.
