Thousands of classic car fans flocked to last weekend’s 40th AvD Oldtimer Grand Prix at the Nürburgring in Germany.

Around 20 different categories meant racing from dusk till dawn, with trophies such as the Historic-Marathon Nürburgring Trophy, the World Sportscar Masters and Grand Prix Masters up for grabs.

Brit Alex Buncombe won the E-type Challenge race, while Graf Marcus von Oeynhausen took Historic-Marathon honours in another E-type.

Joaquín Folch claimed easy victories in both Grand Prix Masters races at the wheel of Bernie Ecclestone's Brabham BT49C.

Away from the track there was a timewarp paddock, with highlights such as a Ferrari 250GT SWB with period transporter, and Porsches including a 550 and a 718.
