    Sheridan Thynne died suddenly while on holiday with his wife in Egypt. He was a key member of an aristocratic young group that included Piers Courage, Charles Lucas, Jonathan Williams, Charlie Crichton-Stuart and Frank Williams, and remained a life-long stalwart of motor racing. When Williams started his own F1 team, Thynne was a friend and advisor, later playing a major role in the team.
