Fabrizio Violati (1936-2010)

| 13 May 2010

An avid Ferrari collector and keen historic racer, Violati's prized 250GTO was the star of his Maranello Rosso museum in San Marino.Having owned it since '65, when he paid about £1400 for chassis 3851, Violati claimed the longest ownership of this exotic: "I saved the car from scrap and hid it from my parents. I only drove it at night so nobody would see me."
