Racing driver Richard Bond has died. The Welsh-born ace competed internationally for more than a decade after kicking off his career in 1964 with a Jaguar sports-saloon.

That was followed by success in an E-type Lightweight and later he competed in the World Sports Car Championship in a Ford GT40. He also raced on the continent including several forays to Le Mans and the Targa Florio.

The picture shows Richard Bond and Paul Vestey in a Porsche 911S at Le Mans in 1971. The Ferrari 512M was being driven by Chris Craft and David Weir.
