Roy Francesco Salvadori passes away

Classic & Sports Car is saddened to learn of the passing of Roy Salvadori. Born in 1922, Salvadori’s impressive career began in 1947, including 50 Grands Prix and a win at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1959 where he shared the drive with Carroll Shelby. After his driving career ended, he went back to running his car dealership but later made a return to Formula One in 1966 to manage the Cooper racing team for two years before retiring to Monaco.
