A 1954 Jaguar XK140 tops a lot list that includes a host of desirable projects at Brightwells’ upcoming sale in Leominster on 15 May.

Having been subject to a nut-and-bolt restoration by its current owner in 2010, the XK140 Roadster carries a guide price of £68-72,000.
It comes with receipts for work that included being converted to right-hand drive (having been sourced from Arizona), a new Broadsport five-speed gearbox, an engine rebuild, an unleaded fuel conversion and uprated brakes, which included fitting front discs.

The bodywork and panelfit is said to be ‘superb’ and the car sits on its original steel wheels.
The interior has been retrimmed in beige leather and it comes with a new hood and sidescreens.

While the XK140 may be too pricey for some – the C&SC office included – a 1978 XJ6C makes a desirable alternative with an estimate of £6-7000.
