The November issue of C&SC, officially out in the UK on 3 October, has an exclusive reunion of four of the most famous cars from The Beatles' extensive fleets.
John Lennon's Iso Fidia lines up with Paul McCartney's Aston Martin DB6, Ringo Starr's Facel Vega and George Harrison's Ferrari Dino. Ross Alkureishi's story also highlights some of the Fab Four's other famous classics.

Elsewhere in the magazine, after all the cars our GT and barge specialist Marin Buckley has driven over the years, you may not guess that his ultimate 'pure driving experience' would be an MGC across Salisbury Plain. Yet, equipped with a rather special Downton example of the straight-six MG, it certainly lives up to its billing. Busy Buckley also jetted to Turin to meet one of his design heroes, Paolo Martin.

There's a trio of stories on some very special racers-cum-road cars as well.

While Mick Walsh glories in the wondrous Ferrari Dino 196S and asks whether it is better than a Testa Rossa, Yankophile Julian Balme takes to the drag strip in a pair of tarmac-scorching MOPAR muscle cars – Plymouth Road Runner and Dodge Super Bee.

The picturesque setting for James Elliott's test of an electrifying hillclimber may be very different, but the noise was just as raucous as he explored the old – and soon to be revived – Chateau Impney hillclimb in Phil Scragg's legendary HWM-Jaguar.
