Australia's annual Autorama Illawarra show attracted more than 100 classics, vintage cars, muscle cars and customs earlier this month – including several models unique to Australia.
The event is held by Illawarra Rotary Club South and the NSW Muscle Car Association and raises funds for Lifeline South Coast, a suicide counselling charity.
Highlights of the show, which is held in the grounds of Berkeley Sports Club 60 miles south of Sydney, included a Formula One McLaren-Honda show car, a selection of Mazda rotaries and an Australian Ford Capri – which is nothing like the European coupé famously advertised as “the car you always promised yourself”, but is rather a small two-seater with Mazda mechanicals.
