More than 70 Prancing Horses take part in Sardinian road trip
It doesn’t matter who you are: sometimes you just want to see a gallery of classic Ferraris gleaming in the sun on Mediterranean roads.
Good news! We present to you 21 photos of Prancing Horses captured on the Cavalcade Classiche – a remarkable road trip through Italy.
Now in its second year, this 2018 event saw more than 70 Ferraris hit the Italian asphalt – and they were all stunning.
So, sit back, relax and feast your eyes.
-
Pony on the breeze
This year’s event started in Valle dell’Erica, on the Italian island of Sardinia.
-
Hitting the open road
From there, the field – including this F40 – took a range of routes over the following days.
-
Family reunion
This year’s field featured a broad range of classic Ferraris, including the likes of the 250 Europa, the 340 America, the 750 Monza and the 250 California SWB.
-
Exploring the north
Routes included runs from Alghero to the Valle della Luna, from Castelsardo to Porto Cervo, and to the island of Caprera.
-
Black skies and Barchettas
It wasn’t always good weather for open-top machines, mind.
-
Not-so-mellow yellow
When the sun did shine, though, the Ferraris looked nothing short of spectacular.
-
Scenic backdrop
The drivers regularly parked their stunning steeds to enjoy the incredible surroundings.
-
Quite the convoy
The Cavalcade lived up to its name – led here by a 166MM Barchetta.
-
At home by the sea
This Dino looked only too happy to be cruising the Sardinian roads.
-
Ready for any weather
In fact, Dinos of all varieties could be spotted in the procession – including this hard-top number.
-
All white for some
Not every Prancing Horse was red, of course: this 356GTB/4 Daytona cut a dash in white.
-
Cattle class for the Prancing Horses
Chartered or otherwise, there wasn’t much space left to spare on the island-hopping ferry.
-
Coastal cruising
We’d happily send this shot as a postcard – or be behind the wheel of that 250.
-
Trunking through trunks
The 500-mile drive took in a variety of landscapes and locations.
-
Racing pedigree
This Ferrari 750 Monza looked stunning in silver.
-
Global gathering
This year’s event attracted drivers from more than 20 countries.
-
Line astern
To say it was an exclusive field of machines would be a massive understatement.
-
Any excuse for a selfie
Turns out that targa-style top is a boon for the arm-out selfie.
-
Going out in style
As with last year’s event, the Cavalcade wrapped up with a parade and presentation in Maddalena.
-
A treat for the eyes
Once again, the Cavalcade Classiche proved to be a perfect event for spotting poster-worthy Prancing Horses in their element. We can’t wait for next year!
