The first British Grand Prix, held at Brooklands in 1926, will be celebrated at the Surrey museum on 7 August with a special event on the famous banking and Finishing Straight.
A Delage 15-S-8 from that very race will be in attendance at Brooklands Relived, along with later cars such as a 1928 Aston Martin LM1 and 2013 Mercedes W04. A car from each decade since that first British round is expected to chart the development of Grand Prix racing.
The cars will provide a moving spectacle, tearing down the straight and on to the banking, while parts of the rest of the venue will be transformed into a scene from 95 years ago.
Some machines will tackle the 1-in-4 Test Hill, too.
Fans will be able to see historic machinery back at the first home of British motorsport
“In 1926, Britain’s motorsport industry didn’t hold the position it does today. The running of the first British Grand Prix at Brooklands was a huge step for motorsport in this country and brought top level drivers, teams and engineers to compete here,” said Samantha Hart of the Brooklands Museum.
