Preparations are gearing up for the Wilton Classic Supercar on 10 August. As well as the introduction of a Group B live rally stage, which was announced earlier this year, a new head-to-head category has been unveiled.

The new class will see classic cars taking on their modern-day counterparts. Visitors will be treated to a Mercedes-Benz 300SL 'Gullwing' challenging a Mercedes-Benz SLS, while the all-new BMW i8 will run alongside the BMW M1. A Lamborghini Huracan is expected to feature with a Miura.

Auction specialist Bonhams will also be putting on a display of vehicles that are set to go under the hammer later in the summer.

The classic car paddock is set to be one of the event's biggest attractions, with a number of headline cars confirmed, including a Ferrari F40 LM, Porsche 911 2.7 RS Lightweight, Lancia B24 Spyder America and the ex-Aga Khan Maserati Quattroporte.

It is hoped that an ex-Fangio Ferrari 290 MM will also be in attendance, though this is yet to be confirmed.
