MG Car Club gears up for year-long party

| 30 Nov 2011

Next year’s 50th anniversary celebrations for the MGB are into overdrive following the MG Car Club’s announcement of several birthday-themed events.

Golden anniversary fever will kick off with the annual MG Spares Day at Stoneleigh on 19 February, which will feature a dedicated MGB line-up – with the event set to be repeated at Sandown Park in Surrey in the autumn.

The spares day will be followed by an MGB Birthday Run on 15 April, with 251 MGs converging on the Heritage Motor Centre in Gaydon via four different routes for a club day. Organisers will welcome additional routes if members from other locations wish to join in.

Other planned events include the Club’s MGB Register’s MGB50 at Blenheim Palace in Oxford on 23 September.

The MGCC has also published an official MGB 50 Calendar in aid of charity. It’s available for £3 from Moss Europe.
