Eagle launches brand-new special edition E-type

| 30 Jan 2017

Eagle has added to its lineup of reengineered Jaguar E-types with the Spyder GT, a brand-new version of the roadster featuring a folding roof.

The fourth model on the firm’s roster is based on the exclusive Eagle Speedster, and features a 4.7-litre XK engine producing 330bhp and 340ft lb of torque. It tips the scales at a lightweight 1029kg – less than an MGB roadster – which results in a 0-60mph sprint time of less than five seconds and a top speed of more than 170mph.

Each Spyder GT being life as an original E-type, which is then modified with deeper sills, a lower floor plan and wider 16-inch wheels, as well as receiving a raft of suspension upgrades including Ohlins dampers.

“We’re really proud of what’s been achieved with our E-type Special Editions, and the worldwide reaction has made all the years of effort and dedication completely worthwhile,” said managing director Harry Pearman. “The Spyder GT represents the very best of what we do here at Eagle and we’re thrilled to present it to the world.”
