Bizzarrini has revealed its Centenario Edition, the last of the 5300GT Corsa Revival cars that form its continuation series.

This unique example was displayed at FuoriConcorso in Italy from 16-17 May and its name is a tribute to the marque’s founder, Giotto Bizzarrini, who was born 100 years ago.

The 5300GT Corsa Revival was announced back in 2021 to relaunch the Bizzarrini brand.

This UK-built recreation honours the Giorgetto Giugiaro-styled 5300GT Corsa, which topped its class and finished ninth overall at Le Mans in 1965.

The Centenario Edition is the 25th and final 5300GT Corsa Revival, marking the end of the model’s limited production.

Based on original drawings, the 5300GT Corsa Revival continuation car mixes Bizzarrini’s original ideas with modern, 21st-century materials and safety features.

Underneath that eye-catching, lightweight, one-piece, composite bodywork, the Centenario Edition has a steel frame, independent rear suspension, disc brakes and a 5.3-litre V8 engine that has an output of around 400bhp.

According to its maker, the ’60s-inspired 5300GT Corsa Revival has ‘a power-to-weight ratio that rivals a modern supercar’.

Each one of these 25 cars meets the FIA’s Appendix K regulations, meaning all are competition ready.

Giotto Bizzarrini, a University of Pisa graduate, cut his teeth at Alfa Romeo before he was headhunted by Ferrari, where he helped to engineer the 250GTO.

His relationship with Il Commendatore soured, though, and he later worked for Lamborghini, ATS and Iso, before establishing his eponymous firm in 1964.

The Bizzarrini brand went bankrupt in 1969, but the name was resurrected by Pegasus Automotive Group in 2020.

The Centenario Edition paves the way for the marque’s future.

The firm will now focus on the launch of the Giotto, the supercar that was unveiled in 2023, the same year the company’s founder passed away.

The Centenario Edition is the final Bizzarrini 5300GT Corsa recreation – the firm’s next model will be an all-new supercar

This all-new Giotto features references to the original 5300GT, but it is a thoroughly contemporary design, also by Giorgetto Giugiaro.

Power will come from a naturally aspirated V12 engine and it will have an eight-speed, dual-clutch gearbox.

“The Centenario Edition exists to celebrate what has come before as we close that chapter and step into the future,” said chief executive, Isobel Dando.

Bizzarrini has also announced an official registry to store information about its classic cars.

More details will be announced soon, but the new initiative will focus on authenticating and restoring historic models.
