LAMBORGHINI COUNTACH LP400/LP400S

2-door 2-seater fastback coupé.

Astonishing Countach, to replaced equally astonishing Miura. Same basic engine, but structural and mechanical layout quite different. Countach had multi-tube frame and in-line mid-mounted V12 engine, with gearbox ahead of engine between seats. Brutal Bertone style with lift-forward door articulation. 375bhp gave top speeds of 170mph plus, in great style, with race-standard roadholding to give security. Supplanted by 4.8-litre LP500S in 1982, still made today, with even bigger engine. The only true Ferrari Boxer competitor ever made.
