Ancient four-cylinder B-Series engine dropped, and replaced for this model by overhead-cam 1700/2000 'O' Series instead. Otherwise few changes, though perhaps better quality. Dunlop Denovo run-flat tyres on a few, and automatic transmission on a fair proportion. 87bhp, 93bhp or 110bhp (six cylinder). As with Princess I, four headlamps with four cylinder engines, trapezoidals with in-line six. All types dropped for 1982, to be replaced by Austin Ambassador, itself a hatchback derivative of Princess II - the version it always should have been!
