C&SC supports the London Classic Car Boot Sale

| 23 Sep 2013

C&SC is backing the innovative Classic Car Boot Sale in London on 12 October. More than 70 classic cars will cruise on to the Southbank Centre's famous riverfront for the event, curated by Wayne and Gerardine Hemingway and organised by the Vintage Festival team.

The Classic Car Boot sale will take place from 10am to 6pm on the riverfront at Southbank Centre between the Queen’s Walk, Hungerford Bridge and Jubilee Gardens. Traders will assemble the finest vintage fashion, homewares and pop culture memorabilia, but they must operate from the boot of a classic or vintage vehicle.

Showstopping displays will include vehicles of all shapes and sizes; from classic cars such as the Aston Martin DB4, to VW campervans and beautiful vintage bicycles.

The event will also boast some of the finest food traders, serving premium street food from converted vans and campers, while British Music Experience’s Traffic Jam, a renovated Austin Morris J4 Dormobile, will have DJs playing a mix of music inspired and influenced by Lord Kitchener’s 1950s calypso classic London is the Place for Me

There will be loads more entertainment for all the family and entry costs just £3 per person (tickets available at the Southbank Centre on the day).

Wayne Hemingway said: “What better place than Southbank Centre, home of the 1951 Festival of Britain, to host London’s first classic car boot sale? Expect beautifully designed classic cars, cool caravans, vintage clothes, accessories and collectibles, evocative food trucks selling the best street food out there, bars and vintage vinyl DJ’s and all manner of vintage fun to be had on wheels.”

Places are filling up fast, but there are still some spots for classic car boot sellers left. Contact info@classiccarbootsale.co.uk
