Lister Costin extends winning streak at Brands

The JD Classics-backed Lister Costin has finished top of the field at Brands Hatch, extending its winning streak to three events this season. The car took top honours in the Stirling Moss Trophy.

Chris Ward got off to a flying start, posting a blistering qualifying time of 1:43.065 in just five laps, a full two seconds clear of the nearest competitor – the Lotus 15 of Michael Gans. Ward carried the pace into the race, producing a healthy lead before an incident brought out the safety car after five laps, bunching up the field. It took until lap 11 for the race to resume, when shortly after the team brought the car in for its mandatory 60-second pit stop. It re-emerged in fourth.

As the rest of the pack pitted the Lister Costin returned to the lead, where Ward was pressed hard by the chasing Lotus. However, Ward’s lead proved unassailable, and he finished the 60-minute race with 13 seconds in hand.

“Our Competition Desperment had only just returned from an exhausting few days supporting 10 cars at the Mille Miglia, but they still managed another incredible win at Brands Hatch over the weekend,” said JD Classics’ Derek Hood. “Our perfect tally of race wins so far this season is a testament to their expertise and dedication.”
