LAGONDA 2.6-LITRE

4-door saloon, drop-head coupè.

W.O. Bentley design with all-independent springing and the engine later adopted by Aston Martin; announced autumn 1945. Inboard rear brakes, but styling messy-traditional, weight and complication excessive, and there's a column shift as well. Mk II (1952) has built-in jacks and minor styling changes. Early specification quoted a Cotal gearbox, but doubtful if any sold with this.
