Some great machines are to go under the hammer at the Motostalgia Auction D'Elegance at Austin Convention Centre, Texas next weekend (16 November).
The ex-Tazio Nuvolari Cisitalia-Abarth in which the Flying Mantuan took his last competitive victory is the obvious headliner with it stratospheric multi-million dollar guide price.
Also expected to make huge money, however, is a 1933 Duesenberg Model J Franay 'Sunroof' Sport Berline Sedan (main image) with a guide of $1.4-1.85million.
A tempting lot for the historic racers will be the ex-Alan Jones, Austrian GP winning 1977 Shadow DN8. The DFV-powered F1 car is expected to make $1.25-1.75million.
A lot less pricey, but a great rarity that appealed to the C&SC team is a 1967 Ghia 450SS convertible ($105-125,000).
We will also be interested to see if a gorgeous 23-window 1958 VW Samba reaches the dizzy, over $100,000 heights that have been predicted.
The same goes for a 1964 Amphicar with a guide of $50-75,000.
