Don't panic: Classic Motor Show to go ahead as planned

| 16 Jan 2013

Organisers have quashed fears that the Footman James Classic Motor Show may be in jeopardy following the closure of Clarion’s Birmingham office.

The rumours were sparked by news that Clarion Events had laid-off the entire Birmingham team that traditionally organised the show, which enjoyed a 20% rise in attendance in 2012.

Classic car fans have been assured, however, that the 2013 show will go ahead as planned at its NEC home.

Show director Dan Nwaokolo said: “Following a re-organisation within Clarion Events, we wish to confirm that the management of the Classic Motor Show and the Classic Motorbike Show will now be based from the Clarion Events’ Motoring team within our Fulham Green Head Office.

“The shows will continue to be run at the NEC, Birmingham, with the dates already confirmed as 15-17 November. The show will keep clubs, collectors, owners and enthusiasts at the heart of the events and promises to build on the record breaking success of 2012.”
