A highlight of the classic car calendar is set to return on 16-17 July, with the Midland Automobile Club’s Classic Nostalgia at Shelsley Walsh in Worcestershire.

As ever, it promises to be a super weekend in a famously stunning setting, and in addition to the usual runs up the hill by all manner of dedicated racers, Classic & Sports Car will be on hand to award the trophies in the informal concours d’elegance.

What’s more, as a Classic & Sports Car reader, you can enjoy 25% off your Classic Nostalgia tickets when you book online, using the code CSC25.

John Powrie’s Mini was crowned Best in Show at the 2021 concours at Classic Nostalgia

Entry to the C&SC-supported concours is open to all pre-1985 classics, providing pole-position parking and a chance to parade up the famous hill if you’re selected as one of the class winners by a team of judges including our editor at large Simon Taylor, plus John Mayhead from event sponsor Hagerty.

Classes include Pre-WW2, 1949-1959, 1960-1985 Saloons and 1960-1985 Sports/GTs, plus a more flexible Spirit of the Day award.

A notable trophy on the hillclimb proper will be that for Fastest Lady, first issued last year and honouring the late Joy Rainey, who held the Ladies’ Record for 22 years.

Meanwhile, Stephen Hepworth will guide the famous ‘Guyson Sandblaster Special’ up the hill, in honour of his late father David’s record-breaking 29.92-sec run in this four-wheel-drive hill-climbing monster.

The car clubs were out in force with a wide variety of displays at the 2021 edition

More than 20 clubs will take pride of place in the heart of the event, among them the popular Ralli22 display of British rallying icons from Group A, Group B and WRC.

Another star will make an appearance as Welsh Championship-winning rally driver Mick Briant is reunited with his 1969 Ford Escort Twin Cam.

Playing perfectly to the Platinum Jubilee theme that will be celebrated across the event, several examples of the classic Mini will be on show including the racing van known as Miss March, as well as the recently restored Austin Cooper ‘S’ once driven to Snetterton 500km victory by Gerry Marshall and David Wansborough.

The Ecurie Ecosse LM-C homage to the Jaguar C-type will also be seen in action for the first time, while trade stands, food stalls and live music round off the event – along with a vintage fashion competition.

And remember that Classic & Sports Car readers can take advantage of a 25% discount when booking tickets online using the code CSC25.
