The works Jaguar D-type that finished second at Le Mans in 1954 returned to mark the race’s 90th anniversary last weekend.

OKV 1 was a guest of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO) and was part of a select group of 11 former competitors to complete two parade laps.

They included: the Bentley Speed Six, Alfa Romeo 8C, Ferrari 166MM, Porsche 917K, plus Audi’s R10 and R18.

Peter Neumark, who drove the Jag, said: "It was a great privilege to be asked to take part.

“The second lap was truly amazing, at every marshals post each group of at least 20 orange-clad marshals stood in line waving and cheering as we drove past.”
