Last Sunday, the Automobile Club of Luxembourg celebrated a centenary of motor sport with an event based around the location of the 1912 Heiderscheidergrund hillclimb.
Pre-1963 machinery took part in a tour through the hills, forests and picturesque towns of the surrounding area before crossing the finishing line in Lutzhausen.
The event attracted cars that included everything from a 1931 MG K1 Magnette to early Porsches such as Marc Olsen's 1962 356C.
The curator of the National Ancient Vehicles Museum, Jean-Pierre Dichter, drove a 1937 MG VA cabriolet, while Jaguar enthusiast Fred Simon drove a 1961 E-Type roadster.
The non-competitive event attracted competition cars, too, in the form of Felix Feltes’ 1953 Heritage C-Type on a period XK chassis, Constant Wagner’s 1956 Lotus Eleven S1 and an ex-Carlo Falli 1955 Osca MT4-2AD, driven by Marco Rollinger.
Candidates for the concours’ People’s Choice award included a 1956 Aston Martin DB2 and a 1949 Fiat Topolino C, but the winner was a Jaguar XK140 roadster.
