England to host a concours fit for a Queen

An ambitious plan to hold an international concours d’elegance inside the walls of Windsor Castle has been announced.

It’s being held as part of next year’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations for Her Majesty The Queen, who has given it her backing.

Set to take place in the quadrangle of Windsor Castle in Berkshire from 7-9 September, the concours will be held in aid of charity.

The event’s creative director, Jeremy Jackson Sytner is confident about the calibre of the cars it will attract although the number of vehicles invited, span of eras and class themes have yet to be finalised.

“The event will be a fitting testimonial to the craftsmanship of the UK classic car restoration industry of which the UK is a leading player,” he said

Dealers and specialists are expected to be included while one highlight of the line-ups will be a display of cars from the Royal household, along with a selection of horse-drawn carriages.
