TV chef Heston to taste the tarmac

| 8 Jul 2011

Television celebrity chef Heston Blumenthal is again set to take to the tarmac after agreeing to take part in a race in aid of charity at this year's Silverstone Classic (www.silverstoneclassic.com)

Blumenthal will compete against the likes of game show host Carol Vorderman, ballroom dancer Brendan Cole and TV series Apprentice star Lee McQueen - along with other celebrities - in a Morgan sports car race.

The famous names will each be behind the wheel of a Morgan V6 Roadster for the race on 23 July in a bid to raise money for the the Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK (www.bobbymoorefund.org) - a charity set up in memory of the late footballer in aid of the research and treatment of bowel cancer, which claimed Moore's life in 1993 when he was just 51.

Other celebrities taking part in the eight lap race include TV personality and classic car enthusiast Lord Charles Brocket and TV celebrity and model, Jo Wood.
