Classic & Sports Car – New date for Le Mans Classic and C&SC’s Reader Run

Organisers of this year’s Le Mans Classic have announced its postponement to 1-4 July 2021, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

This means, of course, that Classic & Sports Car’s Le Mans Classic Reader Run has also been pushed back by a year.

The good news is that tickets for the original 2-5 July 2020 will still be valid for the 2021 edition, likewise if you had a booking for our Reader Run, your place is secure for next summer’s road trip.

Travel Destinations, which organises the C&SC Reader Run, has had to close its office due to the current lockdown, but its team will be in touch as soon as possible once it has reopened.

Andrew Melley, Travel Destinations’ Managing Director, says that, by transferring all current bookings to the revised dates, “as members of ABTA all money held with us is financially protected”.

He adds: “Due to the event postponement, it will not be necessary to pay any balance due until 2021.”

“The whole C&SC team is very disappointed that we won’t be hitting the road in our classics and joining our readers at Le Mans this summer," says Alastair Clements, Classic & Sports Car’s Editor in Chief, "but nothing is more important than everyone’s safety, and we're already looking forward to making up for lost time in 2021.”

“We’ll continue to work with Travel Destinations to make the next year’s Reader Run better than ever, and we can’t wait to see you there.”
