The first Motoring Literary and Art Festival is coming to Silverstone next month.
From 2-3 December, the event is taking over the circuit’s Wing, bringing authors, artists, star cars, book signings, speakers, panel discussions and more.
All tickets must be bought in advance and Classic & Sports Car readers can enjoy a special offer which gets you two days of entry for the price of one (tickets for some speaker sessions must be bought separately). To get this discount, click here and use the code ‘EVENTCSC’.
Organised by Porter Press International, the Motoring Literary and Art Festival will be a celebration of automotive books, magazines, art and automobilia – and Classic & Sports Car readers will be sure to recognise some famous names.
Former staff member Richard Heseltine will be hosting sessions on both days, it will be all about Land-Rovers when long-time C&SC art editor Martin Port sits down with Julian Shoolheifer to talk about JUE 477, the world’s first production model, in one of two different marque-specific talks he’s hosting, plus former C&SC editor James Page, author of Superbears, will be in conversation with Lord Hesketh.
Also taking to the stage over the weekend will be Porter Press founder Philip Porter (pictured at the top of this page with Lord Hesketh), alongside car stylists Keith Helfet, Ian Callum and Julian Thomson, as well as Formula One journalist Lee McKenzie and F1 designer Gary Anderson.
Jackie Oliver, Peter Stevens, John Watson, Andy Palmer, Karun Chandhok and John Fitzpatrick are among the other big names confirmed.
On the Saturday there will be a chance to catch a private viewing of the film Stewart, about Jackie Stewart, with 50% of the ticket price for that going to the three-time F1 drivers’ champion’s charity Race Against Dementia.
Authors, artists, publishers and more will have displays at the event, plus cars on show will include a double Le Mans-winning Ferrari 250P/275P, an Italian Job Jaguar E-type and a Ferrari 550 Maranello by Prodrive.
