More than 230 cars and motorbikes dating from the dawn of motoring to the modern day took part in MotorFest, in the Lancashire town of Ormskirk on Bank Holiday Sunday.
A range of displays and a series of parades around a one-mile closed "circuit" in the town – led by a 1964 BRM and a 1978 Saudia Williams – attracted 10,000 spectators and several star names, including eight times motorcycle world champ Phil Read.
Touring Car racer Tom Boardman also took part and said: "It was A fantastic day, bigger crowds than I ever imagined, all waving and cheering, and the police were brilliant. I've never had the chance to drive on a circuit like this, and together with Grand Prix cars...fantastic!"
