With all the excitement surrounding the ex-Alan Riley Bugatti you could be forgiven for forgetting that there were other cars for sale at Brightwells’ auction last week.
But there were and one of them was a fantastic Alfa Romeo GT1300 Junior (pictured) – a C&SC favourite.
Although not the most valuable lot, the little Italian was a perfect example of the breed, with Brightwells saying: “First registered in May 1970, this particular GT 1300 Junior is a truly remarkable car that has had just one owner from new and has covered a mere 11,200 miles. Only used in the dry summer months and stored in near-perfect conditions, the car is in amazingly sound and original condition throughout.”
Hardly surprising then that it sold for £17,800 on the hammer.
It was a successful sale for the auction house with 77% of lots going to new owners including numerous MGBs such as a 1976 V8 with 57,200 miles (£6500) and a 1980 GT, with an MoT until March, going for £1150.
