Birmingham’s NEC gears up for the Classic Motor Show

| 15 Nov 2012

More than 50,000 enthusiasts and 1500 classic cars are expected to descend on the Footman James Classic Motor Show, which starts tomorrow.

The Classic & Sports Car team will be there in force, displaying the sensational Auto Union D Type that we featured earlier and Alastair Clements' MG Magnette from the Our Classics fleet.

Our annual Club Awards in association with Lancaster Insurance are set to be the best yet, with a record number of entries for Friday night’s ceremony. There are fantastic prizes up for grabs in categories including Club Personality of the Year, Club of the Year and Club Magazine of the Year.

Away from the C&SC stand, the 82,000sq m venue will be jam-packed with displays featuring classic, vintage and veteran cars from organisations such as The Lancia Motor Club and Vauxhall, which has already announced a seven-car lineup from its Heritage Collection.

Hundreds of trade stands will offer a wealth of tools, spares and accessories, and there’s the hotly contested Meguiar’s Club Showcase Concours.

Mike Brewer and Edd China – stars of TV's Wheeler Dealers – will once again be taking to the live stage.

There’s also a Silverstone Auctions sale with cars such as the Prime Minister’s old Fiat 500, a Lamborghini 400GT and a Ferrari Enzo crossing the block.
