Classic & Sports Car – £250m of classics to star in first Concours Virtual

Concours Virtual launched today (30 June) with the promise of an amazing more than £250m worth of classics on show – and all for free.

In the event’s inaugural year, it will feature in excess of 180 cars which will contest 17 concours classes, judged by a star-studded panel, as well as raising funds for Unicef.

The 1974 Lancia Stratos HF Stradale pictured above is in the ‘Poster Cars of the 1960s, ’70s and ’80s’ division.

And with more than 10 Best in Show winners from top-tier concours events, the line-up could rival many of the big-name diary staples we’re missing out on this year.

This Duesenberg Model SJ Speedster is in the running in the Pre-War Preservation class

Nominations in each class are being revealed progressively, the first being ‘Pre-War Preservation’ for which the contenders were announced today.

The 16-strong line-up includes a 1933 Duesenberg Model SJ Speedster, a fabulous 1893 Salvesen Steam Wagonette, several Bentleys and a 1908 Fiat S61 from the FCA collection.

And with a judging panel of The Duke of Richmond and Gordon, Gregor Fisken, Hagerty’s McKeel Hagerty, Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance Chairman Sandra Button and TV star Wayne Carini, there will be nowhere to hide.

Garbo’s Duesie (left) and the Geneva show E-type will also feature

Another Duesenberg, this time a ’32 Model J once owned by actress Greta Garbo, is an entrant in ‘Hollywood Legends’.

This is the next class that will be revealed in full, on 2 July.

Elsewhere, the Jaguar E-type that wowed the world’s press at the 1961 Geneva show is set to take on the ‘Post War Grand Tourers’ category.

This free-to-view concours, run online and on social media – and with the opportunity for you to cast your vote – runs from now until 9 August.
