Classic & Sports Car – This Volvo world-record attempt needs you!

Calling all Volvo owners!

Next weekend, an attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the longest parade of Volvos will take place at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground.

The charity fundraiser, on Sunday 31 March, is called Volvo 600, because that’s how many cars will be required to beat the current record, established in Poland in 2010.

Car clubs, owners and enthusiasts from across the UK are coming together to try and make history, while raising money for Breast Cancer Care UK, and a exciting range of classic Volvos is anticipated at the Leicestershire site.

We’re talking Amazons and P1800 coupés, classic wagons such as the 245 Turbo, brand-new models, modified Volvos and everything in between.

The world record for the longest parade of Volvos currently stands at 570, but rather than aiming for 571, the more memorable figure of 600 is Sunday’s target, the event organisers hoping to smash the record in style.

Want to join in or just come along and witness the spectacle?

The record attempt will be free to enter and watch, the cars lining up between 12pm and 2pm ready for the parade that will be monitored by the Guinness World Record officials.
