The one-day showcase, which is presented in partnership with Jaguar, will explore the history of the British marque’s much-loved sports car, 50 years after Series 3 production ended.

The straight-six-powered Jaguar E-type was unveiled at the Geneva motor show in 1961.

Available as a roadster or a coupé, the Jaguar was an instant hit, and a 4.2-litre option joined the range in 1964.

Expect to see a variety of Series 1 models at this year’s London Concours.

The Series 2 E-type arrived in 1968.

Styling changes included open headlamps (S1½ cars retained covered items), revised tail-lights plus a larger grille.

In the 1970s, Series 3 cars gave the E-type a new lease of life, courtesy of a 5.3-litre V12 engine.

A selection of these models will be at the Honourable Artillery Company in June, alongside 10 cars from Jaguar Classic’s collection and at least one example of the rare, aluminium-bodied Lightweight E-type.

“The word ‘iconic’ is often overused, but in the case of the Jaguar E-type, there can be no dispute that it applies,” said Paul Barritt, managing director at Jaguar Classic.

“[The] E-type is a genuine cultural icon and remains one of the most beautiful cars in the world.

“We are thrilled to be able to celebrate its legacy half-a-century on from the end of its production.”

London Concours returns to the Honourable Artillery Company’s central London headquarters from 4-6 June 2024, and the Jaguar E-type showcase will be on Wednesday 5 June.
